Police received a call on Sept. 5 at 4:40 p.m. about a robbery in progress. Authorities arrived at the home of Celica Londona at the corner of 76th Street and 35th Avenue and found Londona with injuries to her abdomen, arm and face.
She was transported to Elmhurst Hospital where she died of her injuries on Sept. 9.
Authorities identified the suspect as Jordan Vecchio, 32, of Brownsville, who was charged and apprehended on Sept. 5. On Friday, Vecchio was charged with two counts of robbery and felony murder. Additional charges are pending.
