Duo steals 23 pairs of sunglasses from Banana Republic in Elmhurst

Police are asking for help to identify a man and woman who stole 23 pairs of sunglasses from a Banana Republic store at the Queens Center mall last October.

On Oct. 19, 2015, police said, the suspects entered the store located at 90-15 Queens Blvd. at about 5:43 p.m. They removed the sunglasses valued at $2,254, put them in a shopping bag, and fled the store.

The female is described as Hispanic and was wearing all black. The male suspect is described as a black male last seen wearing a dressy, black, long-sleeved sweater, black pants and black shoes.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or texting their tips to 274637(CRIMES) then enter TIP577. All calls and messages are kept confidential.
