WOODSIDE — Police from the 108th Precinct were asking for the public’s help in finding a man who snatched an 69-year-old woman’s cell phone aboard a Manhattan-bound R train.

On Friday, Feb. 12, the suspect approached the woman from behind and grabbed her white Apple iPhone, according to the NYPD.

The suspect exited the train at the Northern Boulevard Station and fled on foot north on Broadway and east on 53rd Place, police said.

The suspect is described as heavyset wearing blue jeans, a dark-color jacket over a black Nike T-shirt with a white swoosh on the chest. Police say the suspect was wearing a mask covering the lower half of his face.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
