ASTORIA —The NYPD was looking for a man in connection with an attempted robbery in Astoria.
At about 2:20 p.m. March 31, the victim, an 11-year-old boy, was walking in the area of 21st Avenue and 43rd Street when the suspect walked behind him, put his arm around his shoulder and attempted to remove the victim’s phone from his pocket, according to the police.
The victim resisted and the suspect fled and there were no reported injuries, police said.
The suspect was described as a white man, 5-foot-6-tall, weighing 200 pounds with dyed red hair, officials said.
No arrests have been made and the investigation was going, according to a police spokesman.
