Cops are searching for a note-carrying crook who swiped a small fortune from a Maspeth bank during a robbery on Monday afternoon.
Law enforcement sources said the caper took place at 1:15 p.m. on Nov. 28 inside the Valley National Bank at 64-01 Grand Ave.
According to police, the bandit — described as a black man between 55 and 60 years of age, standing 5 foot 2 inches tall and weighing 220 pounds with white hair and a white beard — entered the bank, approached the counter and handed a demand note to the teller.
The bank employee complied with the suspect’s request and provided him with an undetermined amount of money, authorities noted. The crook took the cash and fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Officers from the 104th Precinct responded to the incident; there were no injuries.
Police said the suspect was last seen wearing a blue and gray baseball cap, a blue and gray jacket, blue jeans and tan boots.
Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS, visit their website or send a text message to 274637 (CRIMES), then enter TIP577. All calls and messages are kept confidential.
