An NYPD officer fired at a man holding an imitation firearm in Jamaica Wednesday evening, police said.

At 7:43 p.m., officers responded to a call saying that three men were fighting and using drugs inside the premises of 106-35 159th St., police said. When officers arrived, they found three men, two of whom were holding what appeared to be real weapons inside the building on the second floor stairwell, according to the NYPD.

The officers drew their own weapons and told the men not to move, police said, but one of the men turned toward the officers holding what looked like a real firearm. One of the officers fired off a round, but did not hit anyone. One of the men was captured at the scene, but the other two fled and escaped.

Police recovered two weapons that turned out to be imitations but did not have any information on the two additional suspects who fled.
