By Mark Hallum

A rookie police officer from St. Albans was killed in a car accident Wednesday evening in single car roll-over accident, the NYPD said.

Bianca Bennett, 27, of Baisley Boulevard in Queens, was burned to death as the 2012 Dodge Charger she and a 32-year-old man occupied caught fire, according to police. Responders pronounced Bennett dead at the scene, while the driver was found with severe burns on his legs before he was taken to Jacobi Hospital, police said.

She was planning to be married within weeks.

The accident occurred in the 45th Precinct at City Island Circle in the Bronx, near the police firing range.

An investigation by the NYPD’s Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad determined that the car was traveling down the road when it overturned and caught fire.
