UPDATED March 31, 9:43 a.m.
Police have released video of a vehicle wanted in a pellet gun shooting along a Middle Village street earlier this week that is reportedly being investigated as a possible hate crime.
Law enforcement sources said someone in a late-model white sedan pulled up alongside a 55-year-old woman as she walked in the area of Eliot Avenue and 69th Street on the Middle Village/Maspeth border at 1:10 a.m. on March 28.
Authorities said an individual in the car then pulled out a BB gun and fired a projectile that struck the woman in the face, causing a laceration. According to WABC-TV, the men in the car drove past the woman and hurled anti-Hispanic slurs.
The vehicle then fled the scene; it was last seen heading westbound on Eliot Avenue on video footage taken from a nearby car wash.
Officers from the 104th Precinct responded to the incident; the woman was treated at her home for injuries not considered life-threatening.
Police described the suspects as white males.
