Misery — Adapted from the Stephen King novel, James Caan plays Paul Sheldon, a famous author rescued from a snowy car crash by shut-in superfan Annie Wilkes (Kathy Bates). As his protracted convalescence finally nears an end, Wilkes becomes increasingly, and sadistically, unwilling to let him go.

Get Your Zen On — Join a certified yoga master for an hour of yoga. Regardless of yoga experience or fitness level, this adaptable approach is suitable for beginners to experienced students. Pet Adoption — ACC’s Mobile Adoption Center will be at Rockaway Beach Veterinary Services with great cats and dogs looking for loving homes! Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC) adoptions include vaccinations, spay/neuter, a pre-registered microchip, an identification tag, a collar and a certificate for a free initial exam by a participating veterinarian.

Nature Exploration Hike (Moderate) — On the nature hike, you can take an hour to unplug from the world and immerse yourself in the wonders of nature. Moderate hikes are longer, faster-paced walks on rugged terrain. For all hiking programs, it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes or boots, and pack water and a light snack.

Carnegies Hall’s Neighborhood Concerts: Le Vent du Nord — Le Vent du Nord offers full-blooded perfromances of boisterous French-Canadian and Celctic dance tunes, traditional songs, and original compositions. Catchy vocals and spirited contributions from fiddle, accordion, and hurdy-gurdy define the sound that makes Le Vent du Nord an audience favorite.

Animal Care Trainee — This program teaches children about the unique job of an animal caretaker. From wildlife to pets, all animals have needs that must be cared for. Participants will learn about the needs of APEC’s animals. Limited to eight participants ages 8-12.

Taiwanese Hand Puppet-Making Workshop — In this family-friendly workshop, puppeteer Wang Da Chung will introduce children to the art of Taiwanese puppetry, with an explanation of the characters and demonstration of techniques on how to manipulate movements. Children get to decorate their own Taiwanese hand puppet to take home.

Basic Canoeing — Trained Urban Park Rangers will lead you on canoe adventures that range from the gentle waters of protected lakes to the challenging open waters of rivers and bays. All canoe programs are for ages 8 years and older. Participation in a manadatory safety review led by a trained Ranger is requied.
