Community Board 11 welcomed a new district manager to take over the role left open by Susan Seinfeld, who retired in June. Joseph Marziliano, a community coordinator for the city Health Department and a former community assistant for CB 8, will take over as CB 11 goes back into session in September.

Marziliano is a Fresh Meadows resident who, at the currently listed position on LinkedIn, specializes in forwarding complaints from elected officials and community members specifically in Queens to the Health Department and presenting material to neighborhoods about issues concerning their well-being.

Seinfeld’s retirement was announced in April and was met with shock from those at the CB 11 meeting. She said she wanted to spend more time with family, especially her grandchildren, was the reason for her retirement.

Seinfeld was a spokeswoman for former Councilman Sheldon Leffler (D-Hollis) before becoming the district manager for CB 11 over a decade ago.
