A Richmond Hill man has been charged with the stabbing murder of his cousin and roommate, Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said.
Lovedeep Singh, 24, was arraigned Monday in Queens Criminal Court on a criminal complaint charging him with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon, the DA said.
According to the charges, on Monday around 2:30 a.m., Singh admitted to police that he fatally stabbed his cousin, Sharanjit Singh, 26, in the neck and torso inside their third-floor apartment located at 94-28 117th St. in Richmond Hill.
Singh has been held without bail and his next court date was this Friday. If convicted, Singh faces up to 25 years to life in prison, Brown said.
“The defendant is accused of senselessly stabbing to death his cousin and roommate,” Brown said. “This is a family tragedy for all concerned.”
