The Big Red One: The Reconstruction — Drawn from his own experiences fighting in the First Infantry Division in World War II, The Big Red One was director Sam Fuller’s most personal and ambitious movie. This epic follows a sergeant and the inner core members of his unit as they attempt to survive World War II.

Movies Under the Stars: Power Rangers — Power Rangers follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.

Sesame Street: The Parodies — A rollicking compendium of some of the most memorable music, movie, and TV show parodies from Sesame Street. From classics like “Born to Add” to the more recent “Upside Downton Abbey” and Cookie Monster’s “Crumby Pictures,” the creative team at Sesame Workshop has poked fun at pop culture since 1969 and is still going strong.

Movies Under the Stars: Sing — A koala impresario stages a gala singing competition in order to save his theater, and the contest attracts the attention of such musically-inclined animals as a harried pig mom, a teenage gorilla, a shy elephant, and a punk porcupine.

Poseidon’s Parade — Poseidon’s Parade is a family-friendly celebration of people participating, wearing costumes, making floats, and displaying art while celebrating the boardwalk and Rockaway community. The parade will start from Beach 105th Street Island and advance to Beach 94th Street Plaza.

Saturday Sculpture Workshop — Collaborate with the artists of the Free Style Arts Association to create artistic pathways over the rolling fields of Socrates Sculpture Park, similar to the style of medieval meditation mazes. Using bundles of colored rope, you’ll be able to create your own unique patterns, link to others, and then walk the maze in reflection.

Contortionist Jared — Jared Rydelek is not your ordinary kind of talent. His comedic shows are packed with amazing, real, and strange stunts that push the body’s natural limits. Ballet Folklórico Mexicano de Nueva York Presents Festival del Huapango — The Huapango is one of the most beautiful expressions of Mexico, 100 percent mestizo culture with qualities worthy of the world’s most elaborated traditional music. The Huapango Festival is Mexico’s second most important music, song, and dance event after the Guelaguetza.

Stillness in Queens — A collaboration between musician/composer JunYi Chow, flutist Seungmin Chan, and video artist Karen Y. Chan, Stillness in Queens is an experimental video and sound art performance exploring the beauty and quietude of everyday life in Queens. Come and experience the borough in a new way with an evening of stillness, by engaging in this multi-dimensional dialogue between video and sound.
