Movies Under the Stars: Kong Skull Island — This compelling, original adventure from director Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) tells the story of a diverse team of scientists, soldiers and adventurers uniting to explore a mythical, uncharted island in the Pacific, as dangerous as it is beautiful. Cut off from everything they know, the team ventures into the domain of the mighty Kong, igniting the ultimate battle between man and nature. As their mission of discovery becomes one of survival, they must fight to escape a primal Eden in which humanity does not belong.

Close Relations (Rodnye) — In this follow-up to his award-winning documentary Under the Sun, filmmaker Vitaly Mansky examines Ukrainian society amidst the 2014 national election, a period rife with political chaos and growing uncertainty over national identity and integration.

Jim Henson: His Sesame Street Story — This look at the contributions of Jim Henson and his early Sesame Street collaborators (including Frank Oz, Fran Brill, and Caroll Spinney) shows what made the Muppets such an integral part of the beloved show. This program is packed with rare clips from TV specials, guest appearances on talk and variety shows, and much more.

Get Your Zen On! — Certified master yoga instructor Mike Mancini will lead this one-hour yoga experience. This adaptable approach is suitable for beginners to experienced adult students. Atendees are asked to bring their own mat, towel and water bottle. Limited to eight participants.

Tween/Teen Yoga — Certified yoga instructor Grace Magee will lead your tween or teen out of their busy schedules into a place of serenity and strength. Students of all levels will enjoy this class, which mixes traditional poses with parter work, breath/body awareness and stength builders. Participants are asked to bring a towel and water. Mats will be provided. Limited to eight participants ages 8-14.

Queens County Fair — Don’t miss this traditional county fair with blue ribbon competitions in livestock, produce, home crafts, arts and crafts, and more. The fair features pie-eating and corn-husking contests, pig races, hayrides, carnival rides, midway games, and children’s entertainment.

Making an Indoor Worm Bin — In this hands-on workshop, the NYC Compost Project will introduce composting, demonstrate how to set up an indoor worm bin, and go over basic worm care. Participants are welcome to bring their own container, and we’ll provide the tools to transform it into a worm habitat. To do this, you’ll need to bring your own plastic storage container with lid (at least three gallons). Registration is required at indoorwormbin.eventbrite.com.

Florence Price: Classical Music Revolutionary — The Orchestra of St. Luke’s presents a free chamber concert focusing on trailblazing composer Florence Price, who was the first black female composer to have a work premiered by a major American orchestra. Her story will be brought to life with dramatic monologues that are performed alongside her music. Bring a contribution of canned goods for a local food drive.
