Suspect sought for stealing cell phone: NYPD

Police were looking for this suspect in connection with a grand larceny that occurred in Jamaica.

JAMAICA — The police were searching for a male suspect wanted for questioning in a grand larceny that occurred on the J-line platform within the confines in Jamaica.

On the morning of Aug. 6 a 50-year-old man was waiting at the subway station at Sutphin Boulevard and Archer Avenue as the unidentified suspect, a slim black male, possibly between his late teens or early 20s, approached and removed the victim’s cell phone from his hand, according to police.

The suspect was last seen wearing a red jacket and pants, the NYPD said. The suspect was also wearing a white tank top and sneakers.

It was not known in which direction the suspect fled.
