The police were on the lookout for three suspects wanted in connection with an attempted home invasion that resulted in one victim being shot in Hollis Sunday.

The first suspect posed as a deliveryman and approached the front door at a private residence on 100th Avenue and 197th Street, police said. A 12-year-old answered the door and was told by the man he had a package, according to authorities.

Shortly afterwards a 50-year-old who lived at the residence approached the door and as suspect one tried to force his way inside holding a firearm, the resident fought back and pushed suspect one towards the street only to be shot in the thigh by the second suspect, who had a BB gun and was hiding outside behind a fence, according to officers.

The third suspect was also hiding behind a fence, and after the gun went off, the three men fled southbound along 197th Street in a 2000 to 2003 blue Nissan Maxima with a South Dakota registration of 43T 553, which does not belong to the vehicle, the NYPD said.

EMS later responded and took the victim to Jamaica Hospital, according to police. The victim was in stable enough condition to be released.

The first suspect is described as a black man in his early 20s who was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, black sweatpants, and white sneakers with stripes, according to authorities.

The second man is black and was last seen wearing a dark grey hoodiie and light gray pants, according to police.

The third suspect is a black man who was last seen wearing a red and black hoodie with the word “NIKE” emblazoned across the front and he was also wearing a light grey sweatpants.

The suspects are considered armed and dangerous.
