A Forest Hills man has died of his injuries 11 days after being hit by a car while crossing a neighborhood street, police announced on Thursday.
According to law enforcement sources, at 10:50 a.m. on Jan. 18, officers from the 112th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding a pedestrian struck at Metropolitan Avenue and 70th Avenue.
Upon their arrival, police found 63-year-old Hung Ngo, who lived on 69th Road, lying on the roadway unconscious and unresponsive.
A preliminary investigation found that Ngo was attempting to cross Metropolitan Avenue at 70th Avenue when an 81-year-old woman, who was operating a 2013 Toyota Corolla, made a left turn onto Metropolitan Avenue.
EMS responded to the scene and transported Ngo to Jamaica Hospital in serious condition. He died of his injuries on Jan. 29.
The driver remained at the scene following the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
