Trade something old for something new at this free Bayside event this weekend.
On Feb. 4, the Korean Community Services Center will be the site of a “Stop ‘n’ Swap” from noon until 3 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring clean, working and portable items they no longer need, such as clothing, housewares, electronics, books and toys.
Unacceptable items to bring include furniture, large or expired items, food, medicine and any non-working electronics. Attendees are encouraged to bring items, but you do not need to bring something to take something, organizers noted.
Items are only accepted during the event and are available for taking on a first-come, first-served basis. Anything left at the end of the day will be sorted and recycled or donated for re-use as much as possible.
The event is a collaboration with Grow NYC, an organization that works to reduce waste and promote re-use throughout the city. Questions about the event can be directed to the organization at 212-788-7964 or recycle[@]GrowNYC.org.
