Suspect fails in bid to swipe a woman’s pocketbook as she ate at a Kew Gardens Hills McDonald’s

Police are looking for a suspect wanted for a recent robbery attempt at a fast food chain location in Kew Gardens Hills.

On Feb. 9 at around 10:43 a.m., an unidentified male entered a McDonald’s restaurant at 72-69 Kissena Blvd. and attempted to steal a pocketbook from a 65-year-old female victim who was eating with her husband, according to police.

Cops said the victim’s husband was able to fight off the suspect and attempted to hold the suspect at the scene. During the struggle, police noted, the suspect was eventually able to break free and flee the scene in an unknown direction.

The incident was reported to the 107th Precinct. The investigation is ongoing.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black hooded coat and a dark-colored backpack. Surveillance footage of the suspect can be seen below.
