Astoria girl, 7, on life support after choking incident: NYPD

By Bill Parry

A 7-year-old girl living in the Marine Terrace Apartments in Astoria is in critical condition after a choking incident while she was playing a prank on her mother, authorities said.

Precise Tucker tied a bathroom sash around her neck and pretended to choke in her 19th Street apartment Wednesday morning when her mother, Purity, left the kitchen, police said.

The girl then started to snack on Doritos and she began choking. Her 15-year-old brother discovered her in distress and ran to a neighbor for help, according to the Daily News.

A former EMT arrived, cleared the child’s mouth and began performing CPR. First responders transported the girl to Elmhurst Hospital Center and she was then transferred to Long Island Jewish Cohen Children’s Medical Center where she remains on life support.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
