Detectives tracked down a Middle Village man who allegedly shoved a 50-year-old man onto the tracks at a Manhattan subway station last week.
Law enforcement sources said Christopher Vonderlieth, 46, of 62nd Avenue got into a verbal dispute with the victim on the southbound side of the 181st Street A train station in Washington Heights at 8:20 a.m. on April 21.
The argument turned physical when Vonderlieth allegedly pushed the victim onto the southbound tracks. He was later seen boarding a Queens-bound A train that arrived soon after.
Police said the victim managed to escape serious injury and was taken to Harlem Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Security camera footage at the 181st Street station caught Vonderlieth passing through the service entrance while toting luggage.
Following an investigation, detectives picked up Vonderlieth on April 24 and charged him with assault and reckless endangerment. Court records indicate that he remains behind bars on $25,000 bail, and must return to court on April 30.
