Person of interest sought in connection with recent burglary at an Ozone Park home

Cops released images on Thursday of a man they want to talk to regarding a recent burglary at an Ozone Park home.

Law enforcement sources said the break-in occurred at 6 a.m. on May 5 at a home in the vicinity of Liberty Avenue and 80th Street.

According to police, a 40-year-old man was sleeping inside the home at the time that an unidentified suspect got into the home through a side window. Once inside the residence, the burglar swiped $200 in cash and valuables, then exited the residence and fled southbound on 80th Street.

The incident was later reported to the 106th Precinct. Sources familiar with the investigation said that the 40-year-old man had not confronted the burglar while the crime occurred.

Police described the person of interest as a black man between 18 and 25 years of age with a medium build, who was last seen wearing a blue-and-orange baseball cap, a white shirt, green pants and dark-colored sneakers. He’s pictured in the security camera footage below:
