The JFK Chamber of Commerce held is most recent luncheon featuring Ed Baklor, Chief Commercial Officer of LaGuardia Gateway Partners as the guest speaker and was a success said Joe Clabby, President of the Chamber. Baklor made a fascinating presentation of the history of LaGuardia Airport and showed images of what the future LaGuardia will look like.
LaGuardia is undergoing a $5 billion rebuild and is the first new airport to be built in the US in over 20 years. Baklor was passionate about the future as well as pleased that the Port Authority has been able to operate such a busy airport while construction is happening all around the airport with Delta building, roads and infrastructure being constructed all the while the airlines continuo to fly as usual. His presentation was a rare glimpse of the airport development to the group of members and guests of the Chamber who enjoyed a great cocktail hour and luncheon.
The next event is the Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing, September 17th at the Lawrence Country Club. Sponsorships are available. This Golf event is always a great day with members of the entire airport community coming together to have a good time (whether you are a good golfer or not) support the Chamber, support its sponsorships and mingle with others and networking for business.
