A Bayside resident will square off in the boxing ring for a charitable match on Long Island.

Jane Chen, an attorney at the law firm of Forchelli Deegan Terrana LLP in Uniondale, has been selected to box for the 15th annual Long Island Fight for Charity, a volunteer-run event that uses boxing to raise money for local charities.

This year’s Long Island Fight for Charity will take place on Nov. 19 at the Long Island Hilton, located at 598 Broadhollow Rd. in Melville.

Chen, who will go by the nickname “The Real Estate Deal” when she enters the ring, will take on other local business professionals. She will also be raising money through ticket sales and sponsorships that will be donated to the charities the Fight for Charity will be supporting this year.

“I believe that boxing is a sport that sharpens your discipline and challenges both your mind and body,” Chen said. “I look forward to rising to the challenge and doing what it takes to reach my goal on the big day in November.”

The event is expected to attract more than 1,200 people and raise more than $200,000 for local not-for-profit organizations including Long Island Community Chest, The Genesis School and National Foundation for Human Potential.
