Cops are looking for a note-passing thief that took off with a small fortune from an Astoria bank last week.
According to police, at 10:40 a.m. on Sept. 8, an unknown man walked into Alma Bank, located at 41-02 Broadway, and approached the counter. He proceeded to pass a note which demanded money to the teller.
Law enforcement sources said the teller complied and handed over $3,000 in cash. The crook then fled the scene on foot eastbound on Broadway towards 42nd Street.
Cops described the suspect as a Hispanic man with a light complexion, brown eyes, a slim build, standing 5 feet, 8 inches tall and between the ages of 30 to 40 years old. He was last seen wearing a blue polo, blues jeans, black shoes and a black baseball hat.
