Police from the 114th Precinct in Astoria are looking for a man who allegedly broke into a Dutch Kills church late last month.

On Tuesday, Sept. 28 at around 4:40 p.m., the suspect entered St. George Coptic Orthodox Church located at 38-25 31st Street near the 39th Ave.-Dutch Kills N/W subway station.

Once inside, the unidentified man removed approximately $800 from a collection box before calmly leaving the church and fleeing in an unknown direction, police said.

The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect walking down an alleyway adjacent to the church, with images from inside the house of worship showing a middle-aged white man wearing a dark baseball cap, a dark jacket with white stripes down the sleeves, blue jeans with black sneakers.

No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
