The Flushing Business Improvement District (BID) will launch its first-ever Free Food Flushing Tour dedicated to visitors and hotel guests who wish to familiarize themselves with the variety of diverse delicacies that Flushing has to offer.
The tour will start in mid-August and will run until the beginning of September. Registration is now open.
The event aims to bring visitors attending the U.S. Open and Mets games to experience local restaurants that encompass the heart of downtown Flushing and is a significant step from the local community pushing to jumpstart tourism.
“We are hosting the Flushing food tour to promote tourism in flushing. Downtown Flushing is home to diverse communities and a wide variety of delicious food, and our goal is to make it the first stop for tourists,” said Dian Yu, executive director of Flushing BID. “We want tourists to experience food they don’t normally get by sampling dishes from a variety of restaurants. From delicious Thai style Hainan chicken to freshly handmade boba, this is a tour that will showcase why Downtown Flushing is the destination of Choice.”
Visitors can sample dishes from a variety of restaurants, venturing through famous Asian franchises as well as brick-and-mortars.
From handcrafted wontons and egg tarts to Asian- inspired ice cream flavors, Flushing, known as a vibrant, authentic food scene, has something for everyone.
The BID’s Free Flushing Food Tour will feature the following restaurants: Betong Hainan Chicken, White Bear, Legend Chicken, Flushing Ice Cream Factory, Fish With You, Xing Fu Tang, New Flushing Bakery, Partea, and Afternoon.
