NYPD searching for three individuals in connection with attempted carjacking in Woodhaven

The NYPD is asking the public for help with finding the individuals connected with an attempted robbery in Woodhaven on Tuesday, Aug. 2.

Authorities say that a 31-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman left their van unattended opposite of 92-16 76 St. at approximately 8:30 a.m. Upon returning, three unidentified individuals approached the 31-year-old victim as he entered the vehicle through the front passenger’s side door, police said. The assailants then started beating him in the head with a metal object. 

According to police, one of the individuals entered the driver’s seat and attempted to flee with the vehicle, driving over the 62-year-old female victim’s foot. After a brief struggle, the perpetrators were unable to steal the vehicle and fled on foot. 

Both victims were taken to Jamaica Hospital for their injuries and are listed as being in stable condition. 

The unidentified assailants are described as two females and a male, all approximately in their 20s with light complexions and thin builds.
