A prowler slipped into a Hollis Hills home late last month and stole a safe from a man who was sleeping.

Police from the 111th Precinct in Bayside are looking for the unidentified man who entered the residence, located near 226th Street and Union Turnpike, through an unlocked front door just before 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26.

As the 53-year-old man was asleep in his bedroom, the suspect removed a small safe containing a firearm, a MacBook, an iPhone, a watch, jewelry and credit cards before taking off on foot in an unknown direction, police said; the value of the property is approximately $10,449.

The NYPD released a surveillance photo of the suspect on Tuesday and described him as a man with dark hair in his 30s. Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
