Assemblywoman Nily Rozic on Monday, Dec. 5, announced $50,000 in funding she allocated to Commonpoint Queens in Forest Hills that will be used to provide food deliveries for seniors and families in need this holiday season.

“As the holiday season approaches, it is crucial that we look out for those in need,” Rozic said. “Commonpoint Queens’ dedication to providing culturally appropriate food packages to Queens residents is essential year-round and even more during the pandemic. I am proud to be able to support their continued efforts.”

Commonpoint Queens, located at 67-09 108th St. in Forest Hills, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of individual, family and communal life throughout Queens. In addition to their food delivery program, their services include community programming, educational initiatives and cultural events. Rozic has long supported their work both through state funding and by volunteering to deliver food packages personally.

“We are so incredibly grateful for the partnership and generosity of Assembly member Rozic, who is constantly providing hope and resources for our vulnerable neighbors,” said Danielle Ellman, CEO of Commonpoint Queens. “Thanks to this support, we will be able to provide high-quality meals, essential home items and unquantifiable holiday spirit for hundreds of isolated older adults in our community.”
