The NYPD and FDNY will hold their second annual volleyball game this Saturday, Feb. 11, at Maspeth High School, located at 54-40 74th St., to honor fallen heroes in the line of duty.

The game between the NYPD and FDNY will honor those who lost their lives in the line of duty throughout 2022. The ceremony will also honor Detective Wilbert Mora, Detective Jason Rivera, firefighters Jesse Gerhard, Timothy Klein and EMS Lt Alison Russo.

The game will also serve as a stress reliever for the city’s first responders.

“This is big because our jobs are stressful; it’s not simple,” said Officer Brisset Ortiz, captain of the NYPD volleyball team. “We go through a lot of work, and then we go home. It does a lot for our mental health.”

For the first annual game last year, NYPD won.

A portion of the proceeds will also be donated to the PBA and FDNY Wives and Children’s Fund Inc.

The doors open for the big game at 3 p.m. and will begin with a ceremony starting at 4:30 p.m. The game will start at 5 p.m. Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased on Eventbrite.
