Police seek crook who stole A train passenger’s wallet in Ozone Park and made more than $1,000 in unauthorized purchases: NYPD

Police are searching for the man who stole an A train passenger’s wallet and used the victim’s credit card to make more than $1,000 worth of unauthorized purchases.

Police from the 106th Precinct and 23rd Transit District are searching for the crook who stole a straphanger’s wallet on a southbound A train in Ozone Park and used his credit card to make more than $1,000 in purchases.

Authorities say that the 24-year-old victim was on a southbound A train at the Liberty Avenue and Rockaway Boulevard train station at appropriately 1 a.m. on Sunday, April 23, when the crook snatched his wallet that contained credit and debit cards. The victim was not injured as a result of the incident.

The crook, who is believed to be a man between the ages of 25 and 30, used the victim’s credit card to make unauthorized transactions totaling $1,227, police said.

The NYPD on April 27 released surveillance video and images of the suspect.

The man has a dark complexion and a beard and is approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall, police said.

He was last seen wearing a blue baseball cap, gray shirt, dark colored pants and black and white sneakers. He was last seen carrying a black book bag.
