Bethpage Best of the Boro winners celebrate being the best

They are the champions!

The 2023 Bethpage Best of the Boro winners celebrated being voted the best in a much sought after recognition at the winners party on April 24 at the Douglaston Manor. Hundreds of business owners, their employees, members of naming sponsor Bethpage Federal Credit Union and Best of the Boro team members were on hand at the party.

In addition to networking, dancing and dinner, select winners exhibited at the event including HoneyGramz serving its Best Local Honey as well as the Best Bartender recipient from Bantry Bay Publick House serving a signature cocktail, the BORO-tini. Lamar Peters, winner of Best Celebrity Impersonator, performed as Elvis at the event to standing ovations.

According to Schneps, over 100,000 votes were received in the 2023 Bethpage Best of the Boro contest, which recognizes the best that Queens has to offer. The Bethpage Best of the Boro program is promoted across QNS.com, The Queens Courier and TimesLedger chains, The Ridgewood Times, Times Newsweekly, BORO Magazine, LIC Courier Magazine and several other local outlets.

“It’s a prestigious thing,” Amorelli Realty broker owner Paul Halvatzis said. “For us, it’s showing to the community that we’re here, we care and we get the job done. I think it’s a substantial accomplishment, through all the people involved, that we’re still coming out on top year after year. I’m very proud of it and it means a lot to my agents.”

As presenting sponsor, Bethpage Federal Credit Union’s Assistant Vice President of Marketing Jenna Amato also made a big announcement during the party. She said a new branch will soon be opening in Sunnyside, Queens, its first in the borough.

“Bethpage has been in the industry for 80+ years serving our communities,” Amato said. “But now, we are coming to Queens! We are opening our first branch in Sunnyside, Queens this summer, followed by Ozone Park in the fall and next year we are opening in Forest Hills. We are excited to get to know you.”

Gurpreet Singh, manager of winner D and H Auto Body in Richmond Hill expressed his appreciation for the community and custom-
ers for supporting the business and helping to make this possible. His business was named the 2023 Best Auto Collision Shop in Queens. “We appreciate all the customers putting in their input and giving us such great reviews,” Singh said.
For HoneyGramz owner Ruth Harrigan, it was an honor for her organization to receive a Bethpage Best of the Boro Award for the second year in a row. “We’re very excited,” Harrigan said. “The community is excited for us and we’re absolutely thrilled to receive such an honor two years in a row. We must be doing something right.”

Each of the winners gets the privilege of utilizing the “Bethpage Best of the Boro ” logo for their businesses. This includes plaques, banners, print advertisements, digital marketing, social media marketing, outdoor advertising, email signatures, business cards and much more.

In addition to earning this distinction, the award brings a great deal of pride to the winning businesses.
