Police searching for thieves who made off with $40,000 in loot in Maspeth home break-in

Police from the 104th Precinct are searching for two perpetrators who broke into a Maspeth home in broad daylight last weekend.

Police say the two unidentified thieves broke into the home of a 58-year-old man at approximately 1:50 p.m., in the vicinity of 70th Street and 52nd Drive, on Saturday, Aug. 12. The crooks barged into the residence through the second-floor window toward the back of the building. The culprits stole $40,000 from the property.

The thieves carried a foldable ladder into the property with them to climb to the second-floor window, police said. They were last seen heading southbound on 70th Street.

The surveillance camera footage revealed the two individuals breaking into a residence. One of the wanted criminals was last seen wearing a sun hat, neon green long-sleeve shirt, blue pants and black sneakers. The other wrongdoer was last seen wearing a neon orange sweatshirt, jogger pants with three white stripes and black sneakers.
