The 7-year-old boy who was reported missing on Sunday while shopping with his father in Flushing has been found, according to the NYPD.
Daniel Alejandro Fernandez-Matrinez was last seen leaving the Nike Store inside the Shops at Skyview, located at 40-24 College Point Blvd. in Flushing, at around 7:19 p.m. on Nov. 19, according to the NYPD.
The youngster was located safely Tuesday, though it is not clear where and when he was found.
The boy was living at 45 East 45th St. in the Murray Hill section of Manhattan’s East Side, according to the NYPD. The address is the location of the Roosevelt Hotel, which the city converted into an intake center to house migrants and asylum seekers last spring in response to the influx of people bused to New York City from the southern border.
An NYPD spokeswoman was unable to say if the boy was among the asylum seeking families with children who live at the Roosevelt Hotel.
“That’s not something we would be able to confirm,” the spokeswoman told QNS Wednesday morning.
More than 125,000 migrants have arrived in New York City in the past year and more than half remain at city-provided shelters including the Roosevelt Hotel.
