Bayside resident Theresa Brucculeri was recognized by Ronald McDonald House Charities NY Metro for organizing her 40th annual “Friends and Family Holiday Party” on Sunday, Dec. 10 at Leonard’s Palazzo in Great Neck.
Approximately 400 people gathered for the event to recognize Brucculeri’s milestone, as well as to help raise over $200,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities NY Metro and donate gifts to families of sick children in the hospital.
Since starting the Friends and Family Holiday Party in 1983, Brucculeri has helped to raise more than $5 million to benefit the Ronald McDonald House. She and her family have also volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House over the years, serving on countless boards and guiding fundraising efforts.
“I can’t explain the gratification and joy I get from doing this,” Brucculeri said. “It makes such a difference for all the families we serve at the house.”
The 42-bedroom Ronald McDonald House at 267-07 76th Ave. in New Hyde Park is located just steps away from Cohen Children’s Hospital. The House provides the comforts of a home and compassionate care that meet the unique needs of families with sick children. By providing access to top hospitals and doctors, families are able to stay nearby and involved in their children’s care.
