Kameal Ramnauth gave birth to a daughter, Amelia, who was born at 7:54 p.m. on Monday, weighing in at 6-pounds, 15-ounces and 20 inches in length.

Ramnauth praised the staff for the quality of care she was provided.

“My experience was such a good one,” Ramnauth said. “The nurses gave me so much motivation. I’d like to say thank you to everyone at St. John’s, they were very helpful and kind, and they treated my family great as well.”

Team members at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital presented Ramnauth and the father, Ganish Narine, with the St. John’s ICARE Foundation’s special delivery bag filled with official EHS onesies, baby hat, towelettes, and more. The Far Rockaway family will be presented with more gifts in the days ahead.

St. John’s Episcopal Hospital is the only hospital providing emergency, inpatient and ambulatory care to the densely populated and medically underserved populations of the Rockaways. For more than 110 years, the 257-bed facility has provided people with comprehensive preventative, diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitative services, regardless of ability to pay.
