Queens detectives are looking for answers behind a horrific murder-suicide on Saturday night that left two people dead and another seriously wounded.
Police believe that a 33-year-old man shot his 27-year-old brother and a female relative at their home on the 9400 block of 111th Street in Richmond Hill, then fled to a location a mile away and turned the gun on himself.
Officers from the 102nd Precinct first responded to the 111th Street home at about 10:30 p.m. on June 8 after receiving a 911 call about a man shot.
Upon arriving at the scene, authorities reported, cops found two victims — a 52-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to her torso and a 27-year-old man shot multiple times about his body, unconscious and unresponsive.
Responding EMS units pronounced the man dead at the scene. Paramedics rushed the woman to Jamaica Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
Moments later, police learned of a second shooting in front of a home on the 10900 block of 96th Avenue. Upon arriving at the location, they found the suspected shooter, a 33-year-old man, with a single gunshot wound to his head. A firearm was found next to his body.
EMS units pronounced him dead at the scene.
The identities of the deceased have been withheld by police, pending family notification.
Police have not yet ascertained a motive for the murder-suicide. The investigation remains ongoing, NYPD sources said.
