State senate candidate Rory Lancman has joined the battle at a Bellerose apartment complex, where some children go to schools in District 26 and others are zoned for District 29, by writing a letter to recently ousted Schools Chancellor Rudy Crew urging him to place all the students in one school district.
Last month School Board 26 completed an investigation that concluded six addresses in the northwestern corner of Bell Park Manor-Terrace belonged in District 26 rather than District 29.
But there is another section of the development where nearly 200 residents are still under the jurisdiction of District 29, which covers schools in Queens Village, Springfield Gardens, Rosedale, Laurelton and parts of Jamaica.
