Hoping to do their part to raise the amount of blood supplies on hand in the area, several community agencies are banding together for their annual blood drive this Sunday at the Samuel Field Y in Little Neck.
The 10th annual blood drive brings together the Samuel Field YM & YWHA, the Seymour Perlmutter Pool, and the Deepdale Gardens Community Council, which sponsor the event for New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens.
Organizers said giving blood this year was more important than ever, because shortages have reached record lows.
