HOLLISWOOD — An unidentified man squeezed off several rounds at two 105th Precinct officers Friday night, after the officers stopped his car at 93rd Avenue and 203rd Street in a routine search, police said.
The officers returned fire at the man, who jumped out of his car after he was pulled over, said Officer Cheryl Cox, a Police Department spokeswoman.
She said that about 15 minutes prior to the 8:44 p.m. incident the man had robbed a Subway sandwich shop at 196-02 Linden Blvd. Cox said the unidentified man went into the shop and pulled out a silver handgun and demanded cash, then fled with $200 in a tan sedan.
The officers of the 105th Precinct did not know that the man was involved in an earlier robbery when they pulled him over, police said. Nobody was injured in the shoot-out, but the man fled in his car and the two officers were taken to Long Island Jewish Hospital for evaluation, Cox said.
There was no description of the man.
There were no arrests and the investigation was continuing, the NYPD said.
Man stabbed, robbed on Jamaica corner
JAMAICA — A 53-year-old man was stabbed three times in the chest and once in the hand, and robbed of $70 on a Jamaica street corner early Friday morning, police said.
The victim was attacked by three other men at the corner of Jamaica Avenue and 149th Street at about 4:30 a.m., said Detective Carolyn Chew, a police spokeswoman.
The man, whose name was not released, was taken to Mary Immaculate Hospital and was admitted to the intensive care unit, where he remained in critical but stable condition Friday afternoon, said hospital spokeswoman Debbie Cohen.
His nurses reported that he was conscious and breathing on his own, Cohen said.
Police were investigating the incident. No arrests were made by press time.
Muggers take gold chain, car from man in Rosedale
ROSEDALE — A 26-year-old man was mugged by two assailants as he walked down the street early Sunday and his car was taken, police said.
The victim, who was at the corner of 243rd Street and Mayda Avenue at about 1:25 a.m., was pushed to the ground by the men who grabbed his car keys and gold chain, said Sgt. Bill Stiles, a Police Department spokesman.
He said the two men then took off in the victim’s 1997 Lexus.
Police were investigating.
Grand Ave. delicatessen burglarized early Monday
ELMHURST — A group of men broke into a deli at 53-18 Grand Ave. at about 1 a.m. Monday, police said.
The men broke through the store’s roof, and stole 22 cartons of cigarettes, said Jerry Varson, a Police Department spokesman.
Police were investigating.
Brooklyn 19-year-old charged in Roosevelt Avenue shooting
JACKSON HEIGHTS — Mario Clara, 19, of 48 Morgan Ave. in Brooklyn was arrested Saturday in the shooting of an unidentified man at 111th Street and Roosevelt Avenue, police said.
The 18-year-old victim was shot in the back at about 8:40 p.m. Saturday and taken to Elmhurst Hospital where he was listed in stable condition, said Jerry Varson, a Police Department spokesman.
24-year-old man shot in back at Jamaica Avenue eatery
Richmond Hill — A 24-year-old man was shot in the back Friday at about 9 p.m. at the Crown Fried Chicken restaurant at 74-38 Jamaica Ave., police said. The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital where he was in stable condition, said police spokesman Jerry Varson.
A motive was not known, police said.
20-year-old stabbed on 47th Ave. corner
WOODSIDE — A 20-year-old man was stabbed by an unidentified man in the chest for an unknown reason Friday at about 8 p.m., police said. The assailant fled the scene, police said.
The victim then drove himself to Elmhurst Hospital where he was treated for a minor puncture wound, said officer Cheryl Cox, a Police Department spokesman.
She said the incident occurred at 43rd Street and 47th Avenue.
There were no arrests and the investigation is ongoing, said the NYPD.
Accused would-be robber arrested at Merrick Blvd. bank
SPRINGFIELD GARDENS — Fedrico Gondola, 19, was arrested Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. after he allegedly tried to rob a Carver Federal Savings Bank, police said.
Gondola, of 177-34 129th Ave. in Springfield Gardens, burst into the bank at 115-02 Merrick Blvd. as the bank opened, waving a gun and demanded money, said Sgt. Andrew McInnis, a Police Department spokesman. He said a man driving by saw what was going on and called police.
Gondola was charged with attempted robbery and possession of a weapon, McInnis said.
Homeless man hurt at F-train platform
JAMAICA — A homeless man was hit in the head shortly before midnight Sunday by a subway train’s trip signal as he sat under the F -train platform at 179th Street and Hillside Avenue, police said.
Joseph Marino, 39, was taken to Jamaica Hospital where he was listed in stable condition, said Jerry Varson, a Police Department spokesman.
One dead, another critical in shoot-out in Corona
CORONA — One man was dead and another left in critical condition after a fight in front of the LeFrak City housing complex at 95-07 Horace Harding Expressway, police said.
Jeffrey Trade, 27, of Stillwell Avenue in Brooklyn died at St. John’s University Hospital from two gunshot wounds to the chest and Sean Richardson, 24, was in critical condition at Elmhurst Hospital with four gunshot wounds to the chest, said Detective Madelyne Galindo, a Police Department spokeswoman.
She said the two men apparently had a dispute in front of the housing complex, but could not confirm whether or not the men had shot each other.
Driver arrested after injuring officer trying to ticket her: Cops
REGO PARK — A police officer suffered minor injuries after he was hit by a car mirror as the driver tried to escape a ticket for an out-of-date inspection sticker, police said.
Alla Borukhova, 33, of 62-10 99th St. in Rego Park was double- parked at 64th Road and Queens Boulevard at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday when an officer came up to her car and noticed the inspection sticker, said Jerry Varson, a Police Department spokesman.
When he went to give her a ticket, she sped off, he said.
She was arrested and charged with assault and obstruction of justice, Varson said. He said the officer was taken to Jamaica Hospital, treated and then released.
