Repairs to force detours late night on E, F lines

By The TimesLedger

Overnight riders of the E and F trains will encounter some detours week nights through June 8 because of repairs and maintenance work on tracks, the Transit Authority said.

The reroutings will be effective from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday. The changes will begin at 10 p.m.

The Transit Authority said F trains would operate between 179th Street in Queens and the 57th Street/Seventh Avenue station of the N and R lines in Manhattan by way of the 63rd Street tunnel and between 42nd Street and Sixth Avenue and Stillwell Avenue in Brooklyn.

E trains are scheduled to make stops at all R line stations between Queens Plaza and the World Trade Center in Manhattan.

The Transit Authority will shut down stations at 23rd Street and Ely Avenue and Lexington Avenue and Fifth Avenue during the period. It will result in no transfers from the E, F and G lines at 23rd Street/Ely Avenue and Ely Avenue/Court Square in Queens.

Buses will link the stations at Queens Plaza, 23rd Street/Ely Avenue and 21st Street/Queensbridge.
