Police Blotter: Shots fired into Cambria Heights deli

CAMBRIA HEIGHTS — A man was arrested Saturday at 10:30 p.m. shortly after he allegedly fired two shots into a deli at 217th Street and Linden Boulevard, police said.

He had fled the scene on a motorcycle, police said.

There were no injuries and the NYPD said it was investigating the shooting as a bias incident, since the store is owned by a man originally from Yemen.

Desecrated statue left at Coptic Church

RIDGEWOOD — Someone left a bag containing a decapitated statue of a saint holding a decapitated Baby Jesus in front of the Coptic Orthodox Church of the St. Mary at 60-6 Woodward Ave. at about 5 a.m. Saturday, police said.

Police were investigating.

Swastikas found painted in Sunnyside building lobby

SUNNYSIDE — Swastikas were reported painted in the lobby of a building at 47-09 Skillman Ave. about noon Saturday, police said.

Ridgewood newsstand owner victim of ethnic slurs: Police

RIDGEWOOD — The owner of a newsstand at 66-97 Fresh Pond Road was harassed by a man who shouted slurs at him about his Jordanian background Monday evening, police said.

Women shout slurs at man on Sutter Avenue: Police

LINDENWOOD — A 34-year-old Hispanic man told police that four or five women drove by him at 107-17 Sutter Ave. shouting slurs at him about 9 p.m. Saturday.

Man, 51, shot with paint ball in bias incident in Ozone Park

OZONE PARK — A 51-year-old man was shot in the back with a red paint ball as he stood on the corner of 95th Avenue and 113th Street at about 9 p.m. Monday, police said.

The NYPD said a red Lincoln drove past the victim when the paint was fired. Police were investigating the incident as a bias attack.

Hollis man found dead in his 111th Ave. home

HOLLIS — A 41-year-old man was found dead and lying face down in his home at 201-16 111th Ave. at about 12:20 p.m. Monday with a laceration to his head, police said.

The medical examiner is to determine the cause of death, police said.

Teen stabbed in back in dispute in Jamaica

JAMAICA — A 16-year-old was stabbed in the back, allegedly by a 23-year-old during a dispute in front of 151 85th Ave. at about 9 p.m. Saturday, police said.

The NYPD said the victim was taken to Mary Immaculate Hospital in stable condition.

The suspected attacker was arrested, police said.
