College Point survivor almost gets the boot

By Brian M. Rafferty

After 27 days on the Marquesas Islands, it seems that College Point limo driver and former postal worker Robert DeCanio’s time may be up.

In last week’s episode of “Survivor” on CBS, DeCanio, known as “The General,” appeared to be very upset that he had been linked with an apparent failed alliance. John, a nurse from Oklahoma, was booted off the week before, and a major power shift saw two small factions unite as one.

In the most recent episode, “The General” and Tammy approached Paschal and Neleh, who now seem to hold sway in the decision-making process, to make their case for staying on the island.

Neleh, however, said she did not believe them when they told her that they had no idea that John had been speaking for them. Since the game began, “The General” has been very clear to point out that he has not made any alliances with anybody.

Following the confrontation, he went off on his own and sulked for the next day or so. When it cam time for Tribal Council, and he was asked about the game, he was already speaking in the past tense, seemingly sure that he was going to be the next to get kicked off the island.

But Zoe, who seems to have been annoying the majority of the remaining contestants, received every vote (except for her own, which was for “The General.”)

With seven survivors left, the game is getting more interesting each week.

It airs at 8 p.m. Thursday on CBS.
