FOREST HILLS — Police were searching for a bank robber who has hit two locations in Queens.
Martin Pedro, 22, aka Martin Jansen, known by his friends as “Black,” is wanted for allegedly robbing seven banks in Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx, police said.
On Oct. 15, Pedro is suspected of robbing the M&T Bank at 101-25 Queens Blvd. in Forest Hills of $13,992 after firing a shot into the ceiling, police said.
On Nov. 23, 2002, Pedro allegedly stole $4,566 from the Greenpoint Bank at 189-02 Linden Blvd. in St. Albans, police said.
In four robberies in Brooklyn and one in the Bronx, Pedro also allegedly fired a shot into the ceiling, according to authorities.
Police said Pedro is also wanted in a shooting that took place Feb. 3 in the Bronx.
A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to his arrest.
WOODSIDE — A 26-year-old man died in the hospital Tuesday after being stabbed in the stomach nine days before, police said.
On March 16, the man was stabbed inside of 69-23 47th Ave. at 2:21 a.m., police said. He was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital Center.
On Tuesday, the man died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
Police made no arrests and were investigating.
QUEENSBRIDGE — A 3-year-old boy was seriously injured after falling out of a third story window in Queensbridge Houses Tuesday evening, police said.
The boy fell out of the apartment at 41-09 10th St. shortly after 6 p.m., police said.
His father was home but was momentarily distracted, police said.
The toddler was taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan in serious condition, police said.
Police were investigating.
OZONE PARK — Two men armed with a gun robbed a CFS Savings Bank last Thursday, police said.
At noon, the men entered the bank at 89-07 Jamaica Ave., brandished a gun and fled with an undetermined amount of money, police said.
No one was injured. Police made no arrests and were investigating.
LONG ISLAND CITY — A man in his 40s robbed a Chase Bank of $1,000 last Thursday afternoon, police said.
The man entered the bank at 10-51 Jackson Ave. at about 4:55 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding money, police said. He fled with $1,000 in cash, police said.
No one was injured. Police made no arrests and were investigating.
RIDGEWOOD — A man in his 30s robbed a Fleet Bank Monday morning by passing a note to the teller, police said.
The suspect entered the bank at 59-01 Myrtle Ave. shortly after 11 a.m. and passed a note to the teller demanding money, police said. He fled with an undetermined amount of cash, police said.
Police made no arrests and were investigating.
CORONA — An 8-year-old boy was found dead in his bed Saturday evening.
EMS pronounced the child, who lived on 91st Place, dead shortly after 9 p.m.
The medical examiner was to determine a cause of death, and police were investigating.
ROCKAWAY PARK — Swastikas were found spray painted on the rear of a synagogue early Saturday morning, police said.
The swastikas were discovered at 5:50 a.m. on Temple Beth-El Synagogue at 121-16 Rockaway Beach Blvd.
Police made no arrests and were investigating the markings as a possible bias incident.
BELLEROSE — A man in his 20s robbed a Queens County Bank Tuesday by passing a note to a teller demanding money, police said.
The man entered the bank at 244-19 Braddock Ave. at about 11:30 a.m. and fled with an unknown amount of cash, police said.
No one was injured and no arrests were made. Police were investigating.
