St. Francis Prep’s Kristen McEvitt tossed a brilliant one-hit shutout against arch rival The Mary Louis Academy Friday, picking up TimesLedger Athlete of the Week honors for the second straight week.
McEvitt, who two-hit Molloy five days earlier and also recorded a win over Christ the King, had a perfect game until Liz Strein’s one-out single in the bottom of the fifth inning. Mary Louis managed only one more base runner when Erin Breen walked in the seventh.
McEvitt added a single off of Mary Louis ace Stephanie Godziewski, going 1-for-3 on the afternoon.
