Founded in 1997, the Bayside Business Association develops Bayside as a “model shopping district by helping local businesses address issues that could hinder commercial success,” according to the Sanitation Department.
The association is being recognized for its Bell Boulevard Street Cleaning Project, “whose goal was to assist local businesses meet their responsibility to keep their store fronts, sidewalks and curb areas clear of litter,” according to the department.
Sanitation Commissioner John Doherty was to present the certificate Wednesday to the BBA's president, Judith Limpert, at a ceremony held at the LIRR Bayside Station.
