Police Seeking Money Schemers
Police are currently seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the individual(s) responsible for defrauding people out of money by utilizing confidence schemes.
According to reports, the suspect(s) contact the victims and identify themselves as employees of major department stores, claiming that the victims can get discounts on merchandise.
The suspect(s) and victims then meet. Money is exchanged, but no merchandise is delivered.
Police have responded to three incidents in the past week at the Sears at 96-05 Queens Boulevard.
