The Red Storm started two weeks ago with a ranking of No. 25 Ð its first in 22 years Ð and last week, after a win against South Florida, the team jumped to No. 23. But this week, St. John's received only 36 votes in the poll after a loss to Marquette Feb. 8.C.W. Post 70, Queens College 48. Queens was held to just 17 first-half points in losing at C.W. Post, 70-48, Saturday afternoon. Erin White led the Lady Knights with 13 points and Jessica Sanchez added 11 in the loss.Lohrey honored for academics. Molloy College's Donna Lohrey, a Mary Louis product and native of Glendale, was named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America first team. This marks the third time that Lohrey has received this award in her four years at Molloy. The senior has a 4.0 GPA in Psychology and Childhood Education. The 5-foot-4 guard leads the Lady Lions in scoring (12.9 points per game), steals (33), assists (81) and in free-throw percentage (.820).Women's SwimmingMaria Dellagiovanna won two races to help Queens College to a 95-71 win over New Jersey Tech on Senior Night in Flushing.Dellagiovanna bested the field in the 100 fly (1:05.55) and the 50 free (25.82) and was part of the 200 medley team that won in 2:03.17. Liz Iocco (100 breast), Jessie Yang (200 IM), Valeriya Varpakhovich (1000 free) and Bridget Smith (diving) also won their events.Women's Track and FieldThree St. John's team members captured gold medals at the Lafayette-Rider Invitational Friday at the 168th St. Armory.Senior Jasmine Barreto won the 800 meters while also running a personal best, clocking in at 2:13.54. Juniors Kellie Brown and Alecia Sewell took the top spot in each of their events. Brown was victorious in the long jump with a leap of 5.57 meters while Sewell crossed the line in first in the 60-meter dash in a time of 7.68 seconds.Women's TennisSt. John's fell to Princeton 5-0 Saturday afternoon in Princeton, N.J. Doubles pair Barbora Blahutiakova and Mariana Chachua picked up the team's lone win at the No. 2 position.
