Library Foundation's annual Gala

The Queens Library Foundation will host its sixth annual dinner dance and gala, titled &#8220The Crystal Ball…A Magical Event,” at Water's Edge restaurant in Long Island City.
This year's event, to be held on October 4, will honor Steve Chen, Executive Vice President of Crystal Window & Door Systems in Flushing, and Maria A. Grasso, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of Flushing Savings Bank.
In his late twenties, Steve Chen has already acquired a significant background in window manufacturing and installation. As a child growing up in the family business, Chen spent each of his high school and college summers helping his father in the factory, gaining first-hand experience in many aspects of the business.
With 20 years of banking experience, Maria A. Grasso recently joined Flushing Savings Bank. In her new position, Grasso is responsible for managing the retail, small business, and back-office operations of the bank. Prior to her new responsibilities, she served as Senior Vice President and Division Head of The Bank of New York for Long Island and Queens.
Proceeds from the Gala will support the Future's Fund, an endowment ensuring library materials as well as recreational, educational and cultural resource programs for the children of Queens.
