A 40-year-old man was arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman in an elevator and stealing her purse.
According to police, Jerome Harris followed the victim into an elevator inside 41-03 Vernon Boulevard where he punched and attempted to choke her while grabbing her purse. Harris then fled the elevator with the victim’s purse.
He is now charged with robbery and criminal possession of stolen property.
